Avianweb Bird Harness Leash Extension / USA

Description:

·         Attaches directly to the Avianweb EZ Bird Leash hand loop, but can be used with any other bird harness or leash; perfect for allowing your pet to fly short distances yet be within your reach.  Healthy physical exercise that also contributes to your pet's mental health.   Great for preparing your pet for free flight training!

·         Our leash extension is made from the highest quality nylon and robber shock cords that can stretch up to TWICE its length.  The elastic cord is resistant to abrasion, mildew & UV sunlight.

·         One light, yet strong 1-1/4” steel snap spring clip with durable nickel-plated finish is included; however, the extension can be attached WITHOUT any hardware via a loop-to-loop connection (EZ instructions are included) which eliminates unnecessary weight while providing a secure connection.

·         Included is our Avianweb Frustration-free Cord Handle to avoid entanglement of the cord.

Make sure that the area is OPEN without any obstacles. Birds of Prey will hide in trees and can VERY QUICKLY pick up and kill a small bird that is out of the owner’s reach. The further away your pet is from you, the less you can do about protecting it.  Therefore, longer is not necessarily better!!!

For the safety of your pet, it is important to gain experience with these extensions first. It is easy to misgauge distances resulting in a pet landing on an out-of-reach tree branch or roof.  Birds that are new to “free flight” outside, will readily fly up, but are going to be scared to fly down from high perches.  Plus, the longer a flight extension, the more easily it gets caught on bushes and other obstacles.  Therefore, start with a Short Leash Extension.   Only work in CLEARED with short grass.

Note: Birds that are not used to free flight have to build up strength and endurance needed to become efficient flyers.  They don’t only have to carry their own weight, but also the weight of the harness, leash and extension. Free flight training should be undertaken SLOWLY and GRADUALLY.
